LMA Mentors & Patrons

"Changing leadership in business growth could be a great investment but founding a business on great leaders will guarantee greater returns in revenue. The foundation determines the strength of the business decisions. Refuelling will add a process of innovation to the founding strategies and build a satisfactory change in the task ahead."

Winnie is a University of Manchester 2011 graduate with a BA (Hons) in a Management Degree. During her degree, Winnie gained a keen interest in Human Resources and went further to gain an internship in Barclays Retail Banking Network, following which she has a current role working with the Barclays Wealth Online Learning Solutions Team within the Human Resources Department.

Winnie has also previously worked for three years alongside her degree as a property negotiator with an independent property agency in Manchester. In the third year she took on added marketing responsibilities designing and implementing a new more effective marketing strategy of the agency to improve student lettings, online marketing strategy and the overall perception of the company. Winnie has been in part time employment since the age of 16 alongside her studies and has had roles in Retail, Gaming and the Leisure industry.

From a young age, she has had a passion for entrepreneurship and at 17 was a top five finalist in the Virgin Media Young Sparks competition with a concept for an online tool she designed to make the university application process simpler for young people of her age at the time (http://bit.ly/xJBUJq). Now that she has completed her education, Winnie aims to put her entrepreneurial concepts into realization and recently graduated from the Ghanaian Londoners Young Entrepreneurs Programme to help make this happen.

In 2011, Winnie was a Miss Ghana UK finalist. For her, the Miss Ghana UK experience was not just an opportunity to represent her country, but was also a stepping stone to make a difference to ethnic minority women in the UK, Ghanaians especially. Although she did not win the competition, Winnie will always value the opportunity and is currently developing her concepts to put into action the plans she proposed.
